From the world of guitars comes the news that B. C. Rich will debut a new line of guitars under the “Exclusive Series” moniker and designed to honor unsung guitar pioneers. The flagship of the series will be the B. C. Rich Victor Smith, named after the one of the early developers of pickup technology. While working with the Dobro Company in the late 1920’s, Smith introduced the first Spanish-style electric guitar, and later went on to make pivotal contributions in several early patents involving pickup design. Smith also did groundbreaking work in the development of the Supro, National, and Valco guitars. It’s wonderful to see B. C. Rich honoring the legends of the industry. Oh, by the way, the B. C. Rich Victor Smith is one kick-ass guitar!
