Identity 4 (ID4)

Various Artists

Century Media

It is always a pleasure to get a sampler from Century Media. If you have gotten Identity samplers in the past, then you know what to expect from this one. They are still presenting over an hour’s worth of material from their current offerings. Whether it’s the more sophisticated and mellow sounds of Moonspell, the Gathering, and Tiamat, or the harsh sounds that have built Century Media to what it is today, of groups like Arch Enemy or Rotting Christ. There are a large amount of new names that may interest people who are out for new blood, one good example is Lacuna Coil who are a “Gathering” type group (from the Gathering’s “we got a girl singing” era). Just to show what a true variety you will find on the album, you can check out hardcore acts like Turmoil or Subzero, or classic metal from Nocturnal Rites, Iced Earth, Jag Panzer, or Exodus. You can even hear some black metal from names such as Emperor and Alastis. No matter what your choice of metal or harsh music, this sampler has it (everything except Black Sabbath that is!) Century Media, 1453-A 14th St., Suite 324, Santa Monica, CA 90404; http://www.centurymedia.com
