The Getaway People

The Getaway People

Tangerine/Columbia

Mixing the old school with the nu skool and the daily concerns of the peace loving masses seems to come naturally for the Getaway People. This post-modern, Scandinavian soul patrol packs loads of ’70s punch and are, at times, the tribute to Lenny Kravitz that he might have been to Stevie Wonder, especially on “Plastic People” and “She Gave Me Love.” Elsewhere this amalgamation (whose moniker is unabashedly derived from a past BP ad campaign) simply goes to town for an upbeat goodtime with an urban groove.
