The Jesus Lizard

BLUE

Capitol Records

Classic Jesus Lizard’s great, but Mac McNeilly’s departure as drummer has only served to reinvigorate JL since Shot. Jesus Lizard seems more comfortable than ever in their distinctive niche as an band on a “major.” They’ve polished things up considerably over the past decade, and even Yow seems somewhat hesitant to slur his vocals as much as before. In an era of “disposable” bands, only a band with a sound as indestructible as the Jesus Lizard can survive.
