Digital Mixing Console

Yamaha

It’s mind-boggling to think of the advancements in digital technology in just the past couple of years. While many manufacturers are starting to release cost-effective digital mixers, Yamaha, the company that started it all, isn’t content to merely rest on their laurels. Case in point is the new Yamaha O1V Digital Mixing Console. I was pleased to see that the 01V retained many of the features that I’ve enjoyed on my own Yamaha ProMix 01 such as snapshot storage, motorized faders, on-board dynamics, built-in digital effects, etc., while adding a whole host of new features such as 24 full-featured channels, six busses, six aux sends, balanced XLR connectors on all inputs, enhanced digital I/O, 32-bit internal processing, and a whole lot more. This is a very feature-packed console whose price/performance ratio should make this yet another winner for the folks from Yamaha.
