Music Reviews

As soon as Imagination started playing I was reminded of a group I heard from the ’60s – the Beach Boys. Think they’re still semi-around. Anyway, this Brian Wilson effort sure has captured those good vibrations here, with the sparkling additional touch of crystal clear CDness. Plus there is a lot of collaborative work here, with greats such as Jimmy Buffett, Carole Bayer Sager, Steve Dahl, Mike Love, J.D. Souther, and others.

Lots of oohs and ahs, sweet melodies, pleasant thoughts, lilting strings and beatley trumpet codas. And this makes a great disc to listen to with your parents! If you liked that song “Kokomo,” you’re really going to like Imagination. And if you’re not happier (even artificially) after listening to this one, you probably need counseling.
