Can this be possible: mixing really grooving power pop with death metal (resembling Damaged)? Can it work? Heck yeah it works! This is amazing! “Sanctimonious” and “Remove Skin Before Use” sound like Saturday morning cartoon music interpreted by Death, but they keep the melody, well, sort of. The better part of this album (thirteen songs in all) is devoted to death metal blues and pop (new sub-genres) which alternate in vocal style from demonic groaning to hysterical, ear-splitting screams. Some of the songs even sound like a mixture of Extreme Noise Terror and Molly Hatchet (primarily “Mongrel guts” and “Bucket o’ Blood”). Thus, it’s pretty intense, to say the least.
