60 Channels

Tuned In Turned On

World Domination

Aptly titled and deftly executed, Tuned In Turned On is one of the few (if not the first) studio albums entirely produced, programmed, and mixed by a female, namely the heavenly voice of studio temptress The Angel. This dub-heavy project is as funky as they come. The disc’s first two tracks, “Light Years On” and “Ride With the Flow,” drop the funk while showcasing the vocal prowess of The Angel herself. After hearing the album, I’m wondering why I’m not already familiar with 60 Channels’ body of work.

R&B-inflected electronic is a fair description but Tuned In… is not strictly limited to the aforementioned. Above and beyond the production, 60 Channels is in fact a live band that encompasses the efforts of six musicians each carrying with them their specialty and voice to this well-rounded release. It would be interesting to hear what kind of remixes could be commissioned. Definitely a band to keep eyes and ears open for.
