Requiem for the Innocent is the second album from Chicago-based Radakka, who have been making music for almost a decade now. Known for creating music that is closer to the band’s heart, rather than for commercial success or trendiness, Radakka has again stuck to its style and instincts, giving this prog-rock/metal album a non-trendy definition, but exhibiting the band’s musical strengths and talents quite well. The album itself is hard-hitting classic metal, with neat vocals and strong melodies. The songwriting is decent, but the guitarist shows great talent, controlled speed at the fret-board, and good natural vibes with solos and rhythms (probably, that’s why I like this band). These days when good vocalists are so hard to come by, this singer is pretty good, and versatile – he could growl as well as croon soothingly.
