Alexi Lalas

Ginger

CMC International

Have you ever been somewhere, listening to the radio, and something lame like a Gin Blossoms song comes on? You listen to it, but hope no one is aware that you are listening and maybe somehow enjoying the song. Well, this is how I feel about NY/NJ MetroStars soccer player, Alexi Lalas’ new single “Goodnight Moon,” off the new album Ginger. It’s catchy.

Fresh from the 1998 US World Cup soccer season, Alexi is ready to try his hand in music for the off season. Some radio stations have already started playing the first single in heavy rotation. After carefully listening to the whole CD, I think that will be the only tune anyone will ever hear.

The rest of the album sounds like that “I Wear My Sunglasses at Night” guy, Corey Hart. I wonder if that guy can play soccer. CMC International, 5226 Greens Dairy Rd., Raleigh, NC 27616
