MK Ultra

The Dream Is Over

Tiny Telephone

Not to be confused with the Central Florida MK Ultra, nor the ones from Cleveland or Chicago, nor the super-secret CIA project that gets involved wherever a mysterious film plot device is needed. Generic name aside, MK Ultra play an engaging type of electric folk, San Francisco style. The music, which has flashes of brilliance, is outstripped by the lyrics, which often sound as if they’re taken straight out of a diary or overhead at the diner: “Dad, I’ll be fine, I’m trying hard, trying hard to find a way to live, a way to love – I know I’m a little fucked up.”
