An Evening Among Headhunters and Other Reports From Roads Less Traveled

by Lawrence Millman

Lumen Editions: Brookline Books

Lawrence is my kinda people. If there’s a fork in the road and one way is paved and the other is a morass of dirt and mire, he’s gonna leave the asphalt for somebody else and lurch off into the morass.

Good for you, Lawrence, you’re a credit to the force. 26 essays of varying age (many having previously seen print in this or that periodical), lovingly unupdated to bring them into step with the here and now. Fuck the here and now. Most of the time there and then is much better.

The venue is geography, but the crux of the matter is people. Funny people, interesting people, real live honest to god people. My kinda people.
