Kali

Francofaune

Tinder

This record contains an exotic mix of African, reggae, and European influences, resulting in a sound that’s unique but easy to appreciate and enjoy. Kali, hailing from Martinique, shows some interesting perspectives on life, as my fractured French allows. The music on Francofaune for the most part stays on the tropical side, though there are moments where things degenerate into tepid Euro-pop. With a little programming on your CD player, you can whisk yourself away to a mythical equatorial land where the ocean breeze gently ruffles the thatching on your unwalled bedroom.
