Science Park

Science Park

Futurama is a pretty accurate musical invocation of the name. How unfortunate that the hyped Fox series co-opts the word — Science Park has yesterday’s sound of tomorrow down pat, a lush synthetica wash of sound and insinuating melody that sounds both ’80s and ’00s. Their pop sensibilities are razor-sharp, and even when stripped of the crystalline polyurethane coating (as in “Boredom and Beauty”) the band shows a unique and enjoyable musical bent.
