Throwing Nickels

A CCR Tribute

Urinine

Creedence Clearwater Revival has got to be one of the most neglected popular bands of the ’60s. This EP attempts to set that straight with four covers of CCR hits. Pound WI has a dragged-out “Lodi,” Squidboy’s “Lookin’ Out My Back Door” is clichéd punk, but fun, Ruined in a Day and their “Who’ll Stop the Rain” sounds sometimes like Fugazi, sometimes like Korn (?), and Sohcatoah jiggle their trigonometry-lovin’ asses all over “Fortunate Son,” the winner of the lot for me.
