All Scars

3-song 7”

Ace-Fu

Quite the all-star cast (hence the band’s moniker?), All Scars features Washington, D.C. luminaries James Canty (the Make-Up, ex-Nation of Ulysses and Cupid Car Club), Dug Birdzell (ex-Beefeater, Rain Like the Sound of Trains, Las Mordidas, and Fidelity Jones), Jerry Busher (ex-Fidelity Jones and Las Mordidas), and Chuck Bettis (ex-Metamatics). It’s arguable that if one was to combine all the aforementioned bands into one semi-linear sound, it would sound something like a hodgepodge of the Minutemen, the Fall, and Gang of Four, but that’s pretty much a good approximation of All Scars and probably the most accurate you’re going to get. Nervous, edgy, and subtly political without relying on aggression – a recommended single.
