Elf Power

A Dream In Sound

Elephant Six/Arena Rock

Shoot me if you will, but I’d swear the opening track, “Will My Feet Still Carry Me Home,” sounds like a John Lonn song, from around the Shaved Fish era, from the swirling sliding guitars to the irresistible and haunting melody. The rest of the album continues in fine Lennon-esque fashion. Elf Power has a bit of that grandiose Athens pop sound, full of unexpected chords and strangely familiar tunes, and some pretty clever lyrics. “Olde Tyme Wayes” has a Sixties feel with a jaunty step and a jazzy chorus.
