Anna-Lisa

Shades of Blue

NJR

This woman has a really cute voice with a very controlled vibrato. This is the first time I’ve ever liked that soft, loungy-jazz-band-in-the-corner sound, and it’s turned out to be really enjoyable for me. My favorite track on the CD is the first, which consists of a stand-up bass and Anna singing a song composed by Les Brown, Sam Sept, and Charles Tobias called “Comes Love.” If I knew more about jazz, I’d make some historical references; but who gives a damn, this is beautiful stuff; very enlightening.
