Sparklehorse

Good Morning Spider

Capitol

These guys are all over the map, making lots of stops in Beatleburg and revving through the Imperial Drag strip. Nearby are the mellow, rolling pastures and melancholy daydreams which eventually give way to in your face intersections.

Some tracks are very rough and meticulously lo-fi geared, others sounding like some exhausted experimental Lennon demos. Still, it has its appeal, and will grow on me like the gentle sway of a cradle.

Don’t worry, if you don’t like it, it’ll change – well, after a few more sofa ballads. As in sitting on, singing your thoughts to the same few drunken chords. But then, they make it sound like that’s exactly what they meant to do.

Overall, interesting and multi-leveled. Something tells me these guys can’t get ready to go in just a few minutes.
