Track One AB

Very radio-friendly alt-rock. With the right breaks, these guys could be huge – they’re certainly cut from the same cloth as Sister Seven Mary Ezra’s Blind Matchbox Playground, or whatever that band’s name is. What’s that? They’re several different bands? Coulda fooled me. Seriously, though, Track One AB are a bit more distinctive than all that, with a ’70s/glam-influence on most of the tracks. That’s most obvious on “Steam Train,” which sounds uncannily like Foghat’s “Slow Ride.” A truly odd cover of Bowie’s “Golden Years” rounds out a record that you’ll probably hear everywhere over the next year. Is that a good thing? Depends on whether or not you can tell the difference between all those bands I mentioned above…
