There is something extremely soothing about Cantuáiria’s soft voice and gentle chord dances. Cantuáiria can come off as a Brazilian Paul Simon, with glittering melodies and lyrics that consume your thoughts, even after they’ve been through the translation wringer (courtesy of Arto Lindsay). A very avant retinue makes appearances throughout, including Bill Frisell, Laurie Anderson, Sean Lennon (!) and Nana Vasconcelos. An exceptionally laid out set of intelligent Brazilian music.
