The Evil Tambourines

Library Nations

Sub Pop Records

I will start off by saying that I have never heard of these guys. Tobias Flowers and Andy Poehlman are the heart and soul of the Evil Tambourines, which can be described as psychedelic rap/jazz/trance and whatever the new “in” sound is at the moment. Very eclectic and refreshing. Lois Maffeo lends vocals on two songs, one being “Pathways,” which at the moment I can’t stop listening to. She has a beautiful voice that is reminiscent of N’dea Davenport of the Brand New Heavies. Some other songs that stand out are “13,000 Times Bigger Than the Earth,” “Rollerskate!,” and “Return to Burn.”
