Davis Waits

The Evolution Of…

Underhill

Davis Waits is not a person, but, according to the liner notes, a combination of eight players, three producers and one songwriter. The Evolution Of… is southwestern desert rock and roll with a hint of country influence. Ken Kunin writes great songs about everyday stuff, like the bastard who came into his house and made himself welcome, or nights dreaming about better days to come. Song titles like “Another Lonesome Highway,” “Can’t Have You,” and “Seven Years” pretty much sum it up. This is a very well written and produced album that traditional rock fans will dig.
