Gameface

Every Last Time

Revelation

This is emo, I suppose, since Gameface thanks Texas is the Reason in the liner notes. All earnest vocals without a rhyme scheme to be seen, lotsa guitars but no lead work – yeah, that’s emo. All drama supplied by tempo and dynamics, but rarely a memorable hook… this is more is a complaint on the genre rather than something common only to Gameface. The album is not all bad, just that it doesn’t excite me. I’d rather hear a fast, loud, hooky song about cars and girls or something equally silly so long as it rocked, rather than heartfelt poetry about relationships by some boy who listened to a lot of REM in junior high and grew up to be a punk rocker.

Of sorts.

You sensitive types would like it, though. http://www.gameface.net
