Safe House

Safe House is one of those labels that steadily, over a period of years, puts out a handful of mostly excellent albums. Whatever Safe House may lack in quantity is more than made up with in quality, with releases from acts as diverse as rockabilly ragers Bodeco to depressed plunkers Volebeats, the quirky Half Japanese and the utter pop of Nine Iron. A primitive version of the Nails “88 Lines about 44 Women,” dated 1981, will give you an idea of how long (and how consistent) Safe House has been.
