All-Scars

Introduction to Humanity

Slowdime

All-Scars is a collective of DC musicians that play avant garde akin to Knitting Factory regulars like Mike Patton and John Zorn, but with a twist. The “band” uses drums, keyboards, guitar, maracas, effects, alarm clocks, vocal sounds, and various horns. The recording of the songs is great, and sounds a lot better (in more ways than one) than most attempting this genre. Song 4 (they don’t have actual song titles) does sound like a twisted Fugazi, but other than that they stick to the free-jazz structure of indie rock. This is pretty good if you have the patience for giving all 13 songs a chance.
