The holiday part is Jimi Hendrix and the Band of Gypsys wandering through a medley of “Little Drummer Boy/Silent Night/Auld Lang Syne,” in two versions, one over seven minutes. The real treasure is a four-minute ditty, “Three Little Bears,” recorded with the Experience during the Electric Ladyland sessions. It’s impossible to call anything Hendrix ever did a throwaway – the man probably did throw away more brilliant music than most people create in a lifetime – but this could come awful close. A little something for someone’s stocking, perhaps?
