“faint”

The Faint

Blank-Wave Arcade

Saddle Creek

The Faint take a lot of the ’80s sound and feel and re-invigorate it with a bit of hardcore power and energy. Can you dance to it? Yeah. Can you rock out to it? Yeah. Two synths, drums, bass, vocals, and a lot of memories of Duran Duran, Depeche Mode and other such bands. Sex is a recurring theme. My favorites are the last two songs, “In Concert” and “The Passives,” two dancy, catchy tunes. A fun record, incorporating just the right elements of years past. Nicely done.
