Reach the Sky

So Far From Home

Victory

Many might not expect a Dag Nasty-esque melodic hardcore band to land itself on the ever-muscular Victory, but tough guys have been getting in touch with their feelings for years now. Thus, it comes as no big surprise to find Reach the Sky’s So Far From Home on said label; after all, last year’s model was the similarly-styled-but-friendlier Grey Area and their self-titled debut. What makes the album work so well is how the Boston band throttles home its introspective-core with its native city’s patented gang choruses. It’s a fine line to walk, but Reach the Sky isn’t too far from home.
