Secret South

Razor & Tie

Slipping straight out of some dark country swamp straight into the darkest part of your heart and stronger. Less highway speeding than previous albums, this one seems to stick around in the heartland. Crows fly, the whiskey bottles spill, and the drive is still there, but the shadows run deeper. This is autumn music, and playing it in the heat of summer can make even the sunshine seem a bit more sinister. Longing and loss, and running from ghosts along heatwave roads. The piano is magic, the bass line beats out a southern gothic stomp, and the vocals carry demons out into the open. This sweet musical exorcism.
