Johnny Society

Clairvoyance

Messenger

Kenny Siegal has a distinctive voice and writing style, one he carries with him through multiple projects like Johnny Society and the Hand. On Clairvoyance, Johnny Society’s sound gains a few orchestral layers, making for a dense and interesting sound. The instrumental “Mexican Sunset” could pass for a Giant Sand track, but some of the gentler moments, like “Mice” and “Hard to Care” are what really stand out here, oddly angular moments that can barely contain their strangely crafted melodies.
