The Jazz June

The Medicine

Initial

Every time I hear this band, I like them better. This release is no exception. Recorded and engineered by the masterful (and seemingly everywhere) J. Robbins, The Medicine carries you away on waves of power and energy. Never let up, never give in. There is that all-pervasive emo word found in the mix, but it’s buried under clean and controlled (yet still chaotic) rock. The guitar swooping and diving, the drums raging like a caffeinated bloodstream, and then it slams down and your heart almost stops. You can hear hints of the man behind the board as the songs occasionally sneak in little references to Jets To Brazil, but the Jazz June definitely have their own thing going, and the going is good.
