Bettie Serveert

Private Suit

Palomine/Hidden Agenda

Trying to explain the difference between Dutch and American pop is as subjective as explaining the difference between Dutch and American chocolate. There is a difficult to explain split in tastes and textures that marks the nationality of each. Bettie Serveert sits lustrous and rich atop of the lowland pile, with Carol Van Dyk’s full-throated vocals and perfect English diction smoothly layering atop a guitar-bass-drums combo that’s provides a solid stinging, slightly nutty, filling. Timeless, dreamy pop.
