Red Betty

Swim

Radio Room

The latest release from this pop/rock quartet from New York City is short in length, but not on good songs. Headed by the singer/songwriter simply known as Yahz, Red Betty has a good thing going. Her voice recalls the raspy essence of lead Pretender Chrissie Hynde on the opener, “Swim.” The final track, “Distant Lullaby,” bows before the simple tradition of ’60s folk rock, and acts as a perfect bookend to this short but sweet collection of heartwarming jangle rock.
