Sarah Harmer

You Were Here

Zoë

Records like You Were Here by Sarah Harmer are my least favorite kind of records to review. They are kind of like gifts from your co-workers; you don’t really dislike them, but they don’t move you either. I’ve listened to the record a few times and certainly seemed to enjoy it; however, if it were playing right now, I wouldn’t know it. Harmer is a singer/songwriter very much in the Juliana Hatfield/Mary Lou Lord vein, and I’m certain she has and deserves a loyal following, but damn if she made a lasting impression on me.
