Frisbie

The Subversive Sounds of Love

Hear Diagonally

It’s unfair when a band makes a review too easy – I’m just so tempted to say that Frisbie should get points for truth in advertising, since this little round silver thing sails through the air so well. To be fair, Frisbie’s brand of light pop is none too shabby, catchy little melodies and guitar jangle like you’ve heard a million times. Though there’s nothing here that immedieately leaps out and twists my ear (and this can be the kiss of death for pop), Frisbie does have a solid foundation. Some inventive production and they could sink their hooks into the world. For fans of Marshall Crenshaw, Yellow Pills and such.
