Trance Control

Beyond 2001

Strictly Hype

Electronic music comes in many forms, but the most popular and accessible style is probably trance. Trance is the beat-heavy dance music featured at all-night raves, often accompanied by your favorite mind-altering substance. It comes as no surprise, then, that a group calling themselves Trance Control would specialize in trance. Trance can be very monotonous and boring, or it can be adventurous and complex. Beyond 2001 is a continuous mix that straddles the line somewhere between the two extremes, with plenty of beats to keep the party moving and enough breaks and change-ups to keep it from getting stale. This is a great disc for electronic music fans to add to their repertoire or as an introduction to trance newcomers.
