Meet The Parents

Music From the Motion Picture

DreamWorks

If you’re a Randy Newman fan, then run, don’t walk to get this album. If you are not a Randy Newman fan, then this wouldn’t be of much interest to you. Lee Dorsey and Bobby Womack join him in the credits, but otherwise, it’s a one man show. Not that the music is bad – I’m sure it goes very nicely with the movie – but it doesn’t exactly scream excitement when not accompanied by visuals. The songs are fairly short, and many of them go right with movie scenes such as “Wrong Cat” and “The Car Race.” My verdict? Save your money to catch the movie when it comes out on video.
