Kickstand

Kickstand

More Than Meets the Eye

When I first noticed that there was a new release from Kickstand, I was hoping that it was the same Kickstand who released a great CD (coincidentally, it was also self-titled) full of Young Marble Giants-flavored pop (it even included some YMG covers) a few years back. Alas, this is a different band also called Kickstand and they aren’t nearly as good. On this five-song EP, the band yawns its way through some bland, insipid, three-chord rockers that sound like really bad B-side leftovers from The Church, or maybe Let’s Active. How very disappointing.
