I am certain that there are worse records out there, and unfortunately, I am sure I will hear clips of them in car commercials, in department stores, in the those bad dreams where I am being chased by former employers disguised as trolls, or most likely, in the next release on Loveless Records. This morning, I think I heard the worst “indie” record I have heard in a long, long time.
I will review Mini LP by Orbiter with a series of rhetorical questions. Have you ever heard Sheryl Crow? Has your dad (the hippie who went to Woodstock) ever loaded a CD that he thought you might enjoy, and you think that he isn’t your father but a villain from Scooby Doo who will have his mask pulled off? When was the last time you were in Starbucks?
Orbiter’s record is 25 minutes of all the bands that didn’t make it to the Jay Leno show. Cheesy home recording with an over-produced feel, vocals so high in the mix that it could have been a Boyz II Men side project, and instrumentation that is so uninspired and boring that it should have never been recorded. Yes, this is THAT bad. This is über-abysmal.
