Thin Lizzy

One Night Only

CMC International/BMG

Recorded on a European tour in 1999, this has live versions of the big hits from the glory days of Thin Lizzy. The band includes founding member guitarist Scott Gorham. But none of the other Thin Lizzy originators are here. The two most notable of which are Gary Moore (guitarist who joined for the latter half of the glory days), who long since went solo and then got into the blues, and most importantly, Phil Lynott, the voice and creative heart of the band, who’s been in that Great Methadone Clinic in the Sky even longer. The singer here does a passable Lynott imitation, but this is essentially Scott Gorham in a cover band at this point. Which makes me sad. Buy something with Lynott instead.
