God Save the ABPK

Southern

Fusing chaos and melody to form thick, shifting walls of noise that sway into melody and then fade until there’s just rhythm, only to crash back towards dissonance. The guitar swerves and fills the space while the bass and drums keep the attack steady. Vocals move from almost spoken slowness to a very Sonic Youthful drawl. There are elements of the New York noise that fracture through the songs, as well as hints of bands that range from the post-modern Now Wave crowd to more math rocked stains in the dynamics and shoegazing fuzz that catches in your throat. These four musicians take their influences and shred them, recombine them, and make their rock that’s not really even that anymore. Still, it does leave you extremely satisfied.
