River City Rebels

Playing To Live, Living To Play

Victory

To quote Christopher Walken (in his Saturday Night Live role as “The Continental”), “Wowee wow wow wow!” River City Rebels (not to be confused with any other bands that are various other “City Rebels,” and who just broke up anyhow) is a seven-piece Vermont punk rock and roll band. With horns. Not to be confused with ska-punk, puh-leeze. Not that there’s anything wrong with that. This is rock and roll hearkening back to The Sex Pistols and The Clash, with some horns for emphasis. They even cover The Ramones’ “53rd and 3rd” (I wonder if they know it’s about male hookers?), somewhat more melodically, for good measure.

This rocks hard, with the whoa-oh-oh factor through the roof, and the horns are just right. Buy, buy, buy! These guys gotta lot of mouths to feed.
