Hoi, time to get back to basics. The New Town Animals are way stoopid, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Straight up rock and roll, the kind that seems to be happiest wallowing in its three filthy chords, The New Town Animals plunge headlong into very familiar territory, pumping out fast and driving punk pop anthems without much regard to safety or pedestrians. The opening “Rock ‘N Roll Scene” is all about the putrid rock ‘n roll scene – gotta be seen, nothing to be heard. Obviously not a scene where you’ll find The NTA. Lots of fun, not much thinking required, but you can listen to the lyrics and come away with something. Fans of The Smugglers, take heed.
