Killing Ground

SPV

Definitely one of the heaviest Saxon albums I’ve heard. These dudes have been around for nearly 100 years, and still play balls-to-the-wall heavy metal. Killing Ground comes with a Viking’s helmet/face on this cover to boot! Standout songs include “Hell Freezes Over,” “Deeds Of Glory,” “Dragon’s Lair,” and the strangely haunting “Shadows On the Wall,” a song about the immediate results of an atomic bomb. Metalheads all over should swarm to this album, but so should fans of King Crimson! Saxon covers “The Court of the Crimson King,” and they do it in such a Saxonesque-metal style, meaning Mr. Biff Byford’s vocals accentuate each word such that it sounds like Shakespeare, etc., etc. Dude, it’s Saxon!
