Truck Stop

I really enjoy a lot of Truck Stop Records releases, but for the life of me, I just can’t get into this one. Maybe it’s the tempo – most of these songs display a languid approach that moves, but they move so slowly. Or, maybe it’s the singing style, throughout the approach is relatively without emotion. It could also be the melody, or lack thereof. Whatever it is, this album doesn’t exactly reach out and grab the listener. It is more akin to Low after they have affected a country/western approach, or maybe The Dismemberment Plan after imbibing into too much Dramamine.
