Hans Zimmer

Black Hawk Down: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack

Decca

This is quite possibly one of the most powerful and moving soundtracks to any film ever. With the exquisite creative juices of Hans Zimmer and the majestic voices of artists such as Rachid Taha, Denez Prigent and Lisa Gerrard, and Joe Strummer and the Mescaleros, this CD is unstoppable. At the first track, a tribal, ethentic gem called “Hunger,” you feel it in your bones – unlike many, many soundtracks, the music of Black Hawk Down has legs of its own. Have whatever opinion of the movie you want, but this CD is a masterpiece in world music. Every song is wonderful – each earthy, a little rock with some grinding guitars nestled into chants and hand beaten drums. In a word, eclectic.
