Lamb Lost in the City

Daemon

Bilingual and bicutural American indie folk from Ani Cordero and her group of loose, jangly musician friends. The hybrid of Latin pop, lush folk music and mellow indie rock works surprisingly well, with tracks like the art-rocking “Isn’t It So” blending noise-pop with tango and “Hellfire” putting a sultry Latin melody on top of an acoustic folk drone. On “Sea Captain’s Daughter,” a beautiful Tex-Mex ballad, Cordero sound uncannily like a less raucous, more folksy Los Lobos, and overall they have a mature and confident sound, much owing to Ani’s stunning vocals and the band=EDs overall casual performances. =46ile under “eccentric with a huge crossover-potential.”
