All Girl Summer Fun Band

2

K

If there’s a more aptly named band around than the All Girl Summer Fun Band, I’d be hard-pressed to name them. The band’s second sweet indie confection is exactly what you’d expect from their name: cute female harmonies over fun, summery indie pop melodies. Raw and lo-fi, their sound evokes bands like Dressy Bessy, with a similarly fuzzy guitar sound but sans DB’s more psychedelic-inspired elements.

The songs you’ll have stuck in your head include “Samantha Secret Agent,” “Dear Mr. & Mrs. Troublemaker,” “Down South, 10 Hours, I-5” and “Tour Heart Throb.” They score bonus points for the cool ’80s sequencer-style of “Video Game Heart.” The clincher? Any band that writes an ode to Jason Lee definitely has a lot going for it.

In short, 2 is the perfect soundtrack to all your summer fun plans. Just one listen, and you’ll be ready to hit the beach!
