Invisible
The Invisible EP
Invisible is a semi-instrumental art-rock trio that stresses audio-visual working methods, apparently fully integrated into their live shows and on an upcoming DVD. While this may suggest that this 30-minute, 6-track EP presents only half the picture (the music), the music seems to work fine enough on its own. This is epic, panoramic rock, coming across like a film composer’s version of Chicago’s once-relevant post-rock scene, or like a modest Radiohead, circa The Bends. It’s a warm-hearted and friendly record that seems destined for life as background music, whether it’s to the band’s own film pieces or as accompaniment to your house cleaning duties. The Invisible EP pretends ambitions, but reveals itself to be a sweet and unassuming collection of melodic rock. Rather unremarkable, but pretty and pleasing nonetheless.
